Hertz Hall, UC Berkeley
Whenever we can work on a public institution in our community, we jump at the chance. We were honored to work with UC Berkeley to restore the famous Hertz Hall. The original stage, built in 1950, was a radius moving stage and quite innovative for the time. However, after years of performances, the wood was severely worn down.
We matched the original pattern of 40” rows of white oak laid in a perpendicular pattern across the stage. The stage was then finished with two coats of European oil.
