We were asked to replace the worn-down stage floor at Hertz Hall in UC Berkeley. The ~800 seats music hall with a radius moving stage was built in the 1950s. The stage was 2534 sq. ft. with over 80' ln. ft. of radius bullnose.
We matched the original pattern of 40" rows of 3/4" x 2-1/4" white oak with a perpendicular 3 1/4" plank across the stage.
We convinced the decision-makers to go with vertical grain (R&Q) white oak.
The stage was finished with two coats of European oil.
